Your IT assets are collected in secure vehicles, each item is registered, and a full chain of custody is maintained from collection to processing.
DGD Technology collects redundant IT assets anywhere in Ireland, registers them before they leave the premises, and transports them to our secure facility.
All assets are booked in and assessed for condition, data-bearing status, and remaining useful life. They are then processed for reuse, erasure or destruction on that basis. In all cases, the decision is recorded against each item before any work begins.
Equipment designated for destruction is held for destruction and nothing else.

Our fleet is tailored to handle various equipment sizes. A single receptacle of redundant drives and a full server room clearance are the same service at different scales, and both are scheduled the same way.
For enhanced security and transparency, we offer optional GPS tracking and live CCTV monitoring of your IT assets during transit.
Collections are pre-scheduled to suit your operational requirements, so equipment leaves the building on a date that works around the business rather than interrupting it.
Secure Receptacles Provided
To ensure the secure transportation of data storage media and larger IT equipment to our facility, we provide a range of secure receptacles before removal.
Receptacles are delivered ahead of the collection date and matched to what is being disposed of, from lockable containers for drives and small media to larger units for workstations and network equipment.
What Happens on Arrival
Every item is checked against the asset registry created at the point of collection. Nothing is processed until the count matches, and any discrepancy is raised with you before work begins.
Each asset is then assessed for condition, data-bearing status and remaining useful life, and processed accordingly:
- Reuse and value recovery — equipment with working life remaining is erased using Blancco and returned to the secondary market.
- Certified destruction — equipment designated for destruction, or that cannot be safely reused, is destroyed and certified.
- Hard drive shredding — drives and storage media are shredded to standard.

Why Chain of Custody Matters
Responsibility for personal data does not transfer with the equipment. As data controller, your organisation remains accountable for it through collection, transport and processing — and is required to appoint only processors that can demonstrate appropriate technical and organisational measures.
Each item is registered before removal, monitored in transit and checked against the registry on arrival, so the period between decommissioning and processing is documented rather than assumed.
